[...] Ask them. Leave it to an original thinker like Justin Kownacki to come up with a new method for discovering information. I might try that more often. What is most interesting from the answers to the questions Justin asked to a number of Twitter power users (myself included, which is why I’m trying not to use the word “influencers” he does) is that it gives a little insight s to why having a lot of Twitter followers is (mostly) a good thing. We see so many schemes advertised to build up a Twitter following, but not enough about how to use it. As for me, it’s great to have a greater potential of touchpoints thanks to an expanded Twitter network, and the meaningful relationships that come out of this network, while a very small percentage, come in greater number as a result.
Fantastic interviews, analysis of Twitter power. Seems the most influential, in the SM sphere of those who impact SM, have adopted a pay-it-forward approach and help others. @BethHarte is right about Twitter getting too much credit over other networks, and of course @MackCollier cracks me up but is right as rain, Twitter's always changing so you gotta keep learning your own way, forget the rules. Justin, this Coke's on me.

Very cool project, Justin. Some of the results were kind of surprising, especially comments from Beth Kanter about what she gets from the size of her network. It's good to see the negatives discussed as well as the positives.

Tremendous insight shared here, Justin! Thanks for the initiative you took in bringing together this significant sampling of Twitter Illuminati (heh...yeah, I know...)! nnnI already follow most of these folks and just by the persona they project, I'm really not surprised by their answers. And that's just it, I believe; the reason I like them, the reason I follow them, is because they are indeed 'regular' folks, and are thereby trustworthy, fun, and of eminent personal value to me.nnNice job outta you. You have a new follower yourself, sir!

I appreciated reading the answers to the survey. The article sheds light on myths (tweetcrowds, tweetinfluence) about tweeting.rnrnIndeed, everyone puts his/her personal stamp on how he/she tweets, but the gist I have gathered is that only authentic engagement and interest in people and issues makes tweets interesting and inviting to others. Before following someone, I look at his profile and if he/she convinces me that his tweets have authenticity, are within my interests range and that of the other people I follow, are worth retweeting and within my interests range, then I follow. I review often my follow/followers lists to make it relevant to my interests and that of the people I follow. Finally, I do not attach much importance to numbers, since you may be an influencer, even if your followers are not counted by thousands.rnrnPersonally, I believe that no one is interested in what you ate last night or where you are going, but many are interested in your tweeting about interesting content you have come upon in blogs, websites, or your thoughts/comments on them, your personal experience/wisdom on issues. As for myself, I have two accounts in one I tweet about politics, social media, marketing and the little important things in life, and one that is targeted to e-health, e-patients, cancer patient advocacy, management and leadership in NPs, social media use by NPs.rnrnThanks Justin for your article that brought us the thoughts of key twitterers on whatu2019s important.rn
