Well, you can make fun of us who actually believe the weather men/women, but I did not open any emails from the “mid Atlantic region” because i heard that snow will burst out and fry my computer. I am not sure how cold snow will fry anything but i think it is a virus. (P.S. I only believe the busty red headed weather girls.)

Great stuff, Justin, but I have one philosophical question:

Joann: As a native of Erie, PA (otherwise known as “snow’s pit stop en route to Buffalo”), I’m also unfazed by 2 feet of precipitation. But you and I come from regions that are prepared to deal with the snow, with salt trucks, plows, etc., fully funded by taxes — and with drivers who’ve been through it repeatedly.

Baltimore’s not used to such numbers, and they don’t know how to realistically react. There’s not as much money set aside for snow clearing as there is in other parts of the country, so if we get walloped, the money to clean it up has to be redirected from elsewhere.

As for why Pittsburgh freaks out almost as bad as Baltimore does, I have no idea. Probably something to do with all the hills, which turn every snowstorm into a slalom course.

Sitting up here in Traverse City, Michigan listening to the doom & gloom weather reports for your neck of the woods just left me shaking my head at the idiotic news producers! Up to 24 inches of snow … we’ve been known to get that overnight, streets plowed, school buses running on-time, government offices open, entire community operating at full tilt. AND, the winter sportmen/women having a blast!
